Start of doctorate from June 2012

Doctoral candidates admitted under the doctoral regulations of June 5, 2012, will be automatically transferred to the doctoral regulations of November 15, 2016.

2. Enrollment

In accordance with Section 9(2), sentence 4 of the NHG (Lower Saxony Higher Education Act), doctoral candidates are required to enroll as doctoral students.
To enroll, please contact the Student Center (Student Office) in the main building of Clausthal University of Technology.

Doctoral candidates should apply via the Clausthal University of Technology admissions portal, just like other prospective students.
The deadline for enrollment for the winter semester is October 15, and for the summer semester, April 15 of each year.

3. Application for Admission to the Doctoral Program

When the time comes (after the dissertation is completed), the dissertation, along with the additional documents listed below, must be submitted to the faculty in consultation with your advisor. The following documents are provided to assist you:

- List of documents to be submitted (to-do list)
- Application for the opening
of the dissertation - Short CV (must be submitted
along with the updated CV) - Affidavit (see also “Rules for Ensuring Good Academic Practice and Procedures in Cases of Suspected Academic Misconduct”)
- Statistics form

The Faculty Council will decide on the initiation of the doctoral program at its next meeting or via a written procedure.

4. Publication of the dissertation (following the oral examination)

Before publication, which must take place within one year (the deadline begins on the day of the oral examination), you must first apply for permission to print. You must complete and sign this form, and it must also be countersigned by your advisor. The application must be submitted to the Dean’s Office of the faculty in order to obtain the necessary permission for final publication from the Dean.
