1. enrollment
According to § 9 para. 2 sentence 3 NHG, doctoral candidates must enrol as doctoral students. Enrolment takes place at the Study Center(Student Secretariat).

According to § 5 para. 3 sentence 2 of the above-mentioned doctoral regulations, the main supervisor must submit a proposal to the faculty at the beginning of a doctorate for the services to be provided by his/her doctoral candidate as part of the doctoral studies (doctoral study program) ...to the form
The topic of the dissertation should be assigned after the first semester of the doctoral studies program at the latest.
2. the application for the opening of the doctoral procedure
In due course (after completion of the dissertation), the completed dissertation and the other required documents must be submitted to the Dean's Office in consultation with the main supervisor for the purpose of opening the doctoral examination procedure. The Faculty Council decides on the opening of the doctoral procedure at the next Faculty Council meeting (meeting dates) or by circulation procedure. For the opening of the doctoral procedure at a Faculty Council meeting, please submit the documents to the Dean's Office in good time, i.e. at least 2 weeks before the meeting.
The following documents are required for the opening of the doctoral procedure:
- Information sheet (overview of all documents to be submitted)
- Doctoral application
- Supervision certificate
- Affidavits (mentioned on the information sheet as affidavits no. 1 and no. 2)
- Statistics sheet
- Short CV or short curriculum vitae (by e-mail!)
3. the publication of the dissertation (after the oral examination)
- Application for permission to print (required before printing the deposit copies!!!)
- Notes on bookstore dissertations
- Notes on e-dissertations
