BMBF - Projects

Technician2Bachelor

A primary goal of the project is to counteract the lack of qualified engineers in the STEM field and to attract students with a migration background to university education. The project aims to demonstrate a two-way permeability between university and vocational education. As part of a cooperation between the Clausthal University of Technology and the Technical Academy of the City of Braunschweig, the aim is to significantly shorten the Bachelor's degree course for graduates of the Technical Academy by crediting vocationally acquired skills towards a university degree. There are plans to extend this to other subject areas and degree courses, e.g. energy technologies and computer science. In addition, this project also aims to provide career prospects for students who drop out of STEM courses. The recognition of skills acquired during studies for technician training would break new ground in terms of permeability.
